Bead and Company Now Brunello Bistro?

I was in Bread and Company a few weeks ago for breakfast and the place was pretty packed. The Bread and Company sign is now gone, replaced by one for Brunello Bistro.

Updates to the map

As noted by Mike L and Amanda, Bread and Company now has beer, and the map has been updated accordingly along with a couple of additions for pizza in Magoun Square noted on the Davis Square LiveJournal.

Bread and Company now has beer?

Thanks to Mike L for suggesting that we add Bread and Company to our Winter Hill beer map. I'm not sure when this happened exactly, but the last update on their facebook page has this as 'coming soon' on 9/21. Maybe someone can confirm this?

Bread & Co. rises on Winter Hill, serving up French toast in a recession

Nice piece about the still-newish Winter Hill breakfast and coffee joint, Bread & Co. By Erin Smith for Wicked Local Somerville:

Somerville —

An Italian, an Irishman and a Brazilian opened a restaurant in Somerville.

No, it’s not the start of a politically incorrect joke. It’s the origin of the best new hidden gem restaurant to hit Winter Hill.

Winter Hill Post-Thanksgiving Food Challenge Wrapup

Well, not too much feedback on the places to eat in Winter Hill for our Post-Thanksgiving Food Challenge. SomervilleIrv mentioned that Leone's has fantastic subs, the Paddock is under new management, and Bread and Company is up and coming. Frederic who writes Cocktail Virgin gave a shoutout to Fasika and Highland Kitchen.

A little research on my part led to some close-ish to Winter Hill establishments that might be of interest. Some that were previously not on my radar. I'm not endorsing any of these places, but they all seem to have decent yelp ratings. Here's the list for now:

Taco Loco

Lil Vinny's Ristorante

Wang's Fast Food

Sound Bites

Olde Magoun's Saloon

Panificadora Modelo

Supreme Kitchen

Ha, next we'll try to post about Winter Hill nightlife.

UPDATE: apparently Bread & Co. opened today. See this link for an early review.

Replacement for Bickford's moving in

Reposting this excellent news from georgy at Davis Square Live Journal. Now let's hope Shaw's takes form sometime this decade.

Winter Hill, but hey: Replacement for Bickford's moving in
Bread and Co., which has a location in Everett, will be taking the place of the recently departed (and not at all missed) Bickford's on Broadway in Winter Hill:

From the menu on this site, it looks like mostly Brazilian pastries and sandwiches, but the signage on the building mentioned "Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner," so perhaps they are expanding their fare in this location. I would be psyched to have a real breakfast place within a stone's throw of my house (no offense to the Neighborhood and the Ball Sq., but they are a sliiiight hike).
