Twofer Sunday: Assembly Square

Looks like there might have been something left behind when they cleaned out the old Good Time Emporium from Assembly Square. From wickedlocal.com/somerville:

Somerville —

A large boa constrictor was rescued bySomerville Police at Assembly square today.

Animal Control Officer April Terrio said the snake had a bruise on its head but looked healthy and active this morning. It is in the care of a snake expert until someone claims it. Age, weight and sex have not been determined yet.

At about 9:30 a.m. this morning, Terrio got a call about a snake found at Central Steel on Foley Street in Assembly Square.

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone's 2009 Mid-Term Address

Read Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone's 2009 Mid-Term Address in the Somerville News. The steady progress throughout Somerville definitely makes me feel optimistic. Note some important shout-outs to the Winter Hill and East Somerville community, including the support of the East Somerville Community School after the 2007 fire, infrastructure and transportation development in East Somerville and Magoun Square as part of the Obama recovery plan, as well as preparation for the IKEA move to Assembly Square.

I have to admit though, I do miss Good Time.
