I'm really undecided on this. Fresh food would be great if a retailer were willing to go there. But, it's not exactly a food desert with three small fresh food retailers across the street and a super stop & shop down the hill.
I heard ocean state could be getting a long term lease, which would be a shame because it would prevent redevelopment for many years. Otherwise, discount clothing, home goods, and non-perishable food items would be a great addition to the neighborhood. I have to travel much further for home goods and clothes than I do for groceries.
I should have mentioned in the original post that we are in no way related to the petition, and that the post isn't an endorsement. I actually don't know who started it, sorry.
